The Elgin Fire Department has set up drop off sites for those wishing to contribute items of immediate need.

Requested items include

  • work gloves,
  • flashlights,
  • heavy-duty garbage bags,
  • cleaning supplies,
  • laundry supplies,
  • first aid kits (in Ziploc bags if possible),
  • pet food,
  • ibuprofen (Advil or Aleeve),

A resident Letter of Authority from the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office will be provided to credentialed residents at the S.W. side of the High School.

Residents will have access to their homes right away. Hours of access: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. only

There will be a Tornado Relief Workday on Saturday, April 11. Volunteer registration is at 9AM in the parking lot at Jones Rd. & 8th St. in Rochelle, IL (directions). Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Please bring wheelbarrows and work gloves if you have them.
